Your Car’s Fall Check-list
Summer is coming to a close, this means it is important to prepare your vehicle for the upcoming autumn months. As beautiful as the fall foliage can be, it can also affect your vehicle and your driving. As the temperatures begin to drop and leaves begin to fall it’s important ot take precautions to avoid skidding out of control and potentially being in an accident because of slippery conditions. Here are some tips to make sure you and your vehicle are ready for the fall!
Check/replace your windshield wipers
While driving in the fall, it is very common for leaves to end up on your windshield. This can be very dangerous by potentially blocking your view. If your windshield wipers are too old, dull, and cannot remove the leaves, this could be a serious issue. By checking or replacing your windshield wipers, it puts you at a great advantage that no leaves will stand in your way allowing you to drive with a clearer view.
Check to see if your heater is working
Cooler temperatures means no more air conditioning. Bring the heat! Being that your heater most likely has not been used all summer, it is important to make sure it is working properly Stop in to your local Executive Service Center for a tune up.
Check your tires
When the temperature outside drops, so does the air pressure in your tires. It is necessary that you pay attention to when your tires need air to ensure safe driving. The correct amount of air in the tires should gauge between 32 and 35 PSI.
Don’t forget to also check your tire treads. To avoid slipping and sliding on the road, you’ll need to make sure they aren’t balding. Tread is what allows your car to grip the ground while you drive. Not to mention, taking it slow around those corners!
Check your lights
As the cooler months sneak up on us, the days get shorter and darker, quicker! It is critical that you check to make sure your headlights, brake lights and tail lights are all shining bright. Come to Executive to replace your bulbs if needed for a clearer drive wherever you go!
